Webcam

A video camera designed to connect to your PC.

Wifi

An umbrella for variousstandards of wireless networking.

Wireframe

A website wireframe, also known as a page layout or screen blueprint, is a visual guide that represents the framework of a website.

Wizard

A step-by-step process that helps you choose settings.

Work Based Learning

(Or WBL) The programme you will probably be on if you have been refered to ITeC from the jobcentre. A three month (for adults), or six month (for under 18s) programme in developing your IT and career skills.

Sometimes called Skillbuild. (So on paperwork you might see SBA for adults or SBY for youth).

Workbook

A spreadsheet file. In spreadsheets such as Microsoft Excel and Lotus 1-2-3, each workbook by default cpntains several different worksheets or pages of data.

Writing Frame

A writing frame is a set of prompts (sometimes on the board, sometimes as a handout) to help you organise what you are going to write about.

They are often used as evidence for the portfolio-based qualifications.
