UAC

User Account Control. Part of Vista that attempts to protect your PC by verifying major decisions.

Unit

Almost all qualifications are divided up into units (or modules). The combination of modules and the way they are assessed which make up a complete qualification vary from programme to programme.

Upload

The process of transferring information to another PC on the internet.

URL

Uniform Resource Locater. A technical term for the unique address of a web page.

USB

Universal Serial Bus. A standard that allows quick and easy connection of external PC peripherals.

USB3

A faster version of USB.

User Space

Your personal user space in an area on the Trainee Server where you can save your work. Normally at ITeC you acces this from the T: drive then Users and finding your name.
