Icon

A small image used to identify a file or program.

ICT

Short for Information Communication Technology.

Sometimes used as a general term to refer to computer equipment and software.

It can also refer to the ICT Essential Skills qualification which is one of the portfolio-based qualifications you may work towards at ITeC. It is assessed electronically on the ePortfolio and will require you to do things like:
  • Plan and carry out a proejct using IT
  • Research the information online
  • Present your results
  • Create a blog or website
Do not confuse with IOL!

ILP

Short for Individual Learning Plan.

A plan of action for your course including links to examples of work, assessment information, development plans and reviews.

Carried out electronically on Mahara.

Improve Own Learning

Often abbreivated to IOL. This is one of the portfolio-based qualifications you may work towards at ITeC. It is assessed electronically on the ePortfolio and will require you to do things like:
  • Produce two personal development plans
  • Look at what you're good at and what you need to improve
  • Write about your progress on a blog
Not to be confused with the similar sounding ILP or ICT!

IP address

Internet protocol address. A number used to identify a comuner on a network. An IP address is used to send information to the right place.
