DesktopThe background area of windows where icons can be shown. |
Development Plan A Development Plan is simply a breakdown of your overall goal (e.g. "Pass ECDL") into smaller more manageable steps, each with a target date, list of resources needed and a place to put comments about how things are going. Development Plans will form part of your ILP and your IOL Key Skills Qualification. | |
Dialogue boxA window that pops up to display information. |
DongleA device that connects to a PC, adding a new feature or unlocking software. |
Double-clickTo quickly press and release a mouse button-almost always the left button-twice in succession. |
DownloadTo transfer a file from the internet to your PC. |
DPIDots per inch. A measure of printed image quality, or the size an object will be shown on screen. |
Drag and drop To move an item on screen by clicking it, holding the left mouse button down while moving the mouse, then releasing the button where you want it to be. |
DriverA file that tells windows how to work with a peripheral device. |
Dropdown menuA list of options that appears when you click a menu name or button. |
