Eligible to young people aged 18 or under who have left compulsory education.

There are 3 s trands available:

  1. Engagement
  2. Level 1
  3. Bridge to Employment Level 2

Aim

Our Traineeship scheme provides help and support to 16-18 year old individuals in their personal development - assisting young people develop their ICT and basic skills.

Eligibility

You are eligible for this scheme if you:

  • Are 16-18 years old
  • Need support with basic skills and/or job seeking skills
  • Are unsure what job they would like to do

Benefits

  • A training allowance of at least £30 - £50 per week
  • Help with travel expenses
  • Work placements and tasters
  • Training in basic skills

Essential Skills Wales/Key Skills

These are the skills most commonly needed for success in education, training, work and life in general. In developing Key Skills, you are improving the quality of your learning and performance both in education and work. Learners are also provided with the opportunity to develop their literacy and numeracy skills.

Timescale

  • Engagement - 4-6 Weeks
  • Level 1 - 26 Weeks
  • Bridge to Employment Level 2 - tailored to individual needs
