Work-Based Learning is based upon the premise that learning does not only take place in the classroom.

People working in commercial, public sector and voluntary organisations spend a large part of their lives in a potentially rich learning environment.

Work-Based Learning has many benefits for both the employer and the trainee.

Assessment

Assessment can take place at the student's place of work and training involves a combination of both attendance at Swansea ITeC and on-the-job assessment.

The training and assessment procedures are flexible and lead to recognised qualifications such as NVQs (ITQs).

Employer Benefits

  • Customised study programmes
  • Flexible schedules
  • Projects to improve the performance of your organisation
  • A significant step towards becoming a learning organisation, well able to adapt to change

Student Benefits

  • Relate study directly to your current job
  • Incorporate a project which will enhance your own skills as well as benefiting the organisation
  • Develop skills to give you the confidence to go on learning and improving your own effectiveness
