Aim
To give you the training, guidance and work experience
you need to find work.
Eligibility
You are eligible for this scheme if you:

Are 25-49 years old and out of work.

Are 50
or older.
-
Have worked less than 6 months out of the past 12.
-
Have been
made redundant.
-
Have a disability.
-
Are a
carer.
-
Are
a lone parent.
-
Need support with basic skills.
-
Need
help with using IT.
-
Need help with English because
it is a second language.
Subject to job centre approval
How you benefit from the the scheme
As a WBL learner you get:
-
£10 a week on top of your benefits.
-
Help with
travel expenses.
-
Work "tasters".
-
Training
in basic skills if necessary.
-
Specific job
seeking skills such as CV writing and interview
technique.
-
Time
off to attend interviews.
-
Training towards
a recognised qualification such as City & Guilds
eQuals "Certificate for IT Users" and ECDL at
level 1 or 2.
Timescale
10-12 Weeks.
