Note: All current
funds for the ISF project have been allocated. However the
NGfL Cymru is still encouraging teachers to submit ideas
and will contact them as further funding becomes available.
The Innovative Schools Fund
While more and more teachers are using multimedia in the classroom
the development of effective electronic resources is a still
stumbling block for many.
In order to encourage teachers to share their work and create
new interactive resources the National Grid for Learning (Cymru)
runs the Innovative Schools Fund.
This offers up to £1500 of
funding for the development of suitable teaching resources.
The funding can be used for any purpose, including supply cover
or direct payments to the teacher (or group of teachers) creating
the resources.
The resources themselves can range from on online worksheet
using the Interactive
Whiteboard to a fully-fledged interactive game for teaching
a particular topic.
Eligibility
To be eligible for this award you must be able to submit a
description of the proposed activity along with references to
key curriculum areas and learning targets and how the resources
will contribute towards them.
More information
In order to help you get the most out of this scheme Swansea
ITeC can advise you on different ways of creating the resources,
supply training in a
variety of packages and demonstrate some of the ways other teachers
have developed and electronic teaching materials. Contact
us for more information or to discuss the possibilities.
See the NGfL
site for more information on the scheme itself.
