When investing money in computer training it
is important to choose the right course for your needs. The following
points should
help you make the correct decision.
Level
Do you want an introductory course to get
everyone "up to speed" on the basics
or do you want advanced training in the finer points of dedicated
software?
There's very little point spending large amounts
of time and money teaching things that will never be used. On the
other hand too basic a course may not fully demonstrate the potential
of the software (or the staff!)
Location
How far are you prepared to travel?
Do you want
a dedicated training facility where you can engage completely with
the training away from the interruption and pressures of the office?
Or is it more important to have on-the-spot training
in the actual working environment?
Timing
Full day courses are generally the most efficient
but often half day or evening sessions are more convenient.
Some people
may also find it easier to take in the contents in small 'chunks'
than one long one.
Qualifications
Do you want a recognised certificate such as
ECDL at the end of your course?
Follow-Up
There's nothing more worthless than training
that is forgotten the minute you get back to the office and never
used.
Swansea ITeC can offer an after-sales service
to act as either a quick memory-jogger or to further develop particular
points of interest. Contact us for more
information on choosing the right course for you.
