Purpose
The aim of this qualifications is to provide learners with the knowledge to work and develop their career as a business administrator within an organisation, including: policies and procedures, related legislation, continuous professional development and practical skills such as the use of common office computer software
Structure
The course is made up of a number of units, some of which are business oriented and some which draw from the computer skills of the eQuals User strand.
The Business and Andministration Units are:
- Unit 201 Supporting the business environment
- Unit 202 Working effectively within the business environment
The computer software based units draw from the eQuals units and there is a choice of:
- 4 Units at Level 1
- 2 Units at Level 2
- 2 Units at Level 1 and 1 at Level 2
The choice will depend on your skill set and your tutor will advise you.
For example a new computer user may take 4 level 1 units to gain a basic overview of a variety of packages whereas a more experienced user may wish to specialise and gain a deeper understanding in just the main two packages they expect to use.
Assessment
You will be provided with a scheme handbook which acts as both a syllabus and a logbook. As you develop your skills you will sign off in the logbook those skills you feel you have achieved.
All of the computer units are assessed by practical assignment. You can rehearse these until you feel you are ready and then select the one you wish to attempt.
The results are a three tier system allowing you to gain a Pass, Credit, or Distinction.
The business and administration units have one practical assignment and one theory test, to cover the two unit. The theroy test is multiple choice exam and taken online using the computer.
